About the game
What is The Last Maul?
A free co-op maze tower defence for up to 8 players in your browser. Build a maze with your towers and hold the line together: 8 races, 120 waves across four acts, giant bosses, no download. Players build their towers into a maze that the creeps must walk through, each in a lane of their own, and the whole team shares one pool of lives. The campaign runs from The Gathering Dark to The Last Maul, and giant bosses end the later acts.
Is The Last Maul free?
Yes. Fire, Frost and Storm and waves 1–30 (all of Act I) are free with no time limit, and so is the Daily Challenge with every race. An optional Premium subscription ($2.99/month or $29.99/year, USD, VAT included, the founder price during the beta) unlocks all 8 races and all 120 waves; new players can try it free for 7 days. There are no ads.
Who made The Last Maul?
The Last Maul is made and published by 13Eleven Limited, an independent studio. Contact: support@thelastmaul.com.
What can I play it on?
A desktop or laptop computer with a recent web browser (WebGL), a mouse and a keyboard. Nothing to download or install; it runs at thelastmaul.com/play. Phones and tablets are not supported: the game has no touch controls.
How many players?
1 to 8 in one online co-op game. Solo works too, and empty seats can be filled with AI teammates, which are always labelled as AI. Games with AI teammates aren't ranked on the leaderboards.
Do I need an account?
No. You can play as a guest. A free account saves your scores, level, unlocks and friends; Premium needs an account.
Is The Last Maul finished?
It is in public beta since 6 November 2026 and updated regularly; every update is in the patch notes at https://thelastmaul.com/news/.
