Creeps walk across open ground to a goal town; every tower a player builds bends their path, and the path can never be blocked completely, so the skill is making the walk as long as possible past the strongest towers. Players build in their own lane; all lanes merge before the goal, and every creep that reaches the goal costs the team lives (a ground boss costs 3). Gold comes from kills and from cleared waves; towers sell back for part of their cost and can be upgraded. Elements: fire beats nature, nature beats water, water beats fire. A strong matchup deals 1.5× damage, a weak one 0.5×; neutral towers ignore the triangle. ## Co-op and AI teammates - Up to 8 players in one game, each defending a lane of their own; the whole team shares one pool of lives. - Rooms are public or private (join by a 5-digit room code); Quick Play seats you at an open table. - AI teammates are computer-controlled players, always labelled as AI in the lobby and in chat (they say so when asked). They play their own lane with the same rules. Games with AI teammates are not ranked on the leaderboards. - Friends, direct messages between friends and a global chat channel (links removed, profanity masked) need a free account to write. ## Difficulty - Easy: 50 lives solo, 100 for two players, 400 for 8 - Normal: 20 lives solo, 40 for two players, 160 for 8 - Hard: 20 lives solo, 40 for two players, 160 for 8 - Nightmare: 12 lives solo, 24 for two players, 96 for 8 ## Races and their towers 8 races. It rises out of a black tide that drowns every tower behind it, and its arms seize your best tower ahead. If it breaks through, it costs 10 lives. - Wave 90: The Deepmaw. A worm the size of a keep. It burrows under your maze and erupts, burying the towers around it. If it breaks through, it costs 10 lives. - Wave 120: The Furnace Colossus. A walking forge. It tramples everything in its path and its roar staggers every tower near it. If it breaks through, the run is lost. - While a giant walks, selling a tower refunds its full cost.
