· Version 0.5.0
Harder Waves, New Creeps & a Better Camera
New
- New creep models: Grunt, Scout, Regenerator, Swarmling, Bat, Wyvern and Dragon Lord, plus a recoloured Demon Lord
- Flyers now really flap and glide, and bank into their turns
- The Warg Rider is now the Howlrunner: a black warg with a goblin rider. The frost lord now has its own name: Rimeshroud
- New camera: left-drag pans, the middle mouse button or Ctrl+drag rotates, arrow keys pan, scroll zooms, and Home or H resets the view
- Every tower now has its own firing and impact sounds
- Health bars are slimmer and only show once a creep is hurt. Bosses and creeps low on HP always show theirs
Balance
- Normal is harder: a strong player now has to think every wave, and building two cheap towers and saving up no longer works
- Waves have about 50% more creeps, and each creep is a little weaker and worth a little less gold
- Interest is still 7%, but each wave now pays at most 10 + 4 × the wave number
- Cheap 35-gold towers are weaker. Use them as maze bricks, not as your damage
- The early waves hit harder, the late waves are a little tougher, and the final wave has fewer bats
- The races are rebalanced against each other, and Hard now uses Normal creep HP with 15 lives
Improvements
- Towers no longer ignore creeps that are clearly in range on their right or lower side
- Creeps no longer walk back to a waypoint they had already passed after a tower is built or sold
- In build mode, clicking on a tower or creep in front of a tile now builds there instead of selecting it
- Burning creeps glow ember orange instead of poison green
- Effect fixes: the Flame jet is orange again, and the Oracle shell, Devoted chains, Seraph haze, Frostbog slime, Whirlpool and Gale arrows are all easier to read
